pretty sure ford came up with this. It has since spread to gm. I am going to have to start carrying these.

Carry these narrow bastards as well for all those FCA products:

3 blades on a DC fuse? Why though? One fuse for 2 circuits, for a smaller overall panel, or ?????

something like that. 1.5 fuses cheaper than 2. centre leg is powered, outside 2 are fused.

I’ve never seen those before, and what a fucking slap in the face!

“Did you try turning the fuse around and putting it back in?”

Not just them, they’re widely used.

That’s even worse that the nickel and silver plated ones we have. “15N” or “15S” so there isn’t a dissimilar metal issue at the point of contact. At least normal fuses will work in a pinch

I once had a breathalyser-equipped large Audi that bricked itself frequently. After three days I found the source of the bricking to be a maxi fuse with that cloudy aluminum oxide on the blades, fuse would never blow but the line would increase in amperage until it overcame the resistance. The momentary overspicyness would kill the booze-box.

I hate those things. They’re such a pain anyone a car comes in the shop. I’ve never been able to get one to start. We always just make the owners hang around so they can do it.

I installed 700 of them.

1t was at least 2016 when i surprised the ford parts man with one. he’d never heard of it. opened the fuse bag from the 2015 rollout. I was the first guy to blow one (lucky me)
